Website Designer and Copywriter

Garden Party Concert, 2025

I designed and wrote all copy for the official Garden Party website, including a playful story about the conception of the concert, FAQ’s and answers, concert description, calls to action, and SEO writing.

For the ”Lore” page of the concert website, I used a conversational mix of modern language with flowery “vaguely victorian” prose to create a narrative voice that feels friendly, inviting, and a bit like a character from Alice in Wonderland. I derived this voice from the imagery captured during our photo and video shoots, and continued to implement this voice in all marketing materials and press interviews to solidify the brand.

With our whacky messaging and clear and compelling marketing materials, we were able to sell over 400 tickets to our inaugural event with a marketing budget of about $250.

Example page from the website: The Lore

The copy from the web page example reads:

Garden Party

The Lore…

It was the early to mid something-hundreds, a vaguely Victorian era, when three unlikely characters happened upon one another.

And then they happened upon a garden.

The garden had clearly seen better days, its flowers wilting, its greenery not so green. It had bristles and bristles and brush, all tangled and thorn-ed, and ghostly apparitions were known to haunt the garden’s remains.

But this did not deter the three unlikely characters. Rather, they found it all very curious! And VERY compelling. They decided to make a home among the ghosts of the garden and see what they might grow.

Legend has it that the powdered-haired lady of the bunch couldn’t grow a damn thing, and so she wept…and her many tears fell upon crumbs dropped by the Abe Lincoln-looking member of the trio, whose sprouted toast contained quite a few seeds… and finally, the one with the fabulous cravat spotted a tiny green hand reaching up from the tear-wetted soil. He waved to it, and it waved back, so vigorously that it waved an entire International Rose Test Garden with a giant amphitheater and public restrooms into existence!

And when the garden was fully grown, our 3 unlikely characters decided….

It was time to have a party.

It’s a concert BTW.
